"Spiritual Practices for
Spiritual Partnering"

This interactive respect- and love-filled workshop is for those who wish to deepen their connection with their partner. We explore the spiritual practices and principles that have contributed to the depth and longevity of our 33-year relationship. These include meditation, dedicated time together, affirmative prayer, forgiveness, gratitude, giving and receiving, visioning, goal setting, study, spiritual-community involvement, and service. With an attitude of openheartedness, honesty, and commitment, there are no boundaries to what is possible for your relationship!

Some benefits of this course:
  • More connectedness with your partner
  • Enhanced personal and relationship creativity
  • Better interpersonal communication skills
  • An empowering, expansive experience of your relationship as you examine and release old beliefs patterns and explore the purpose of your life together, as well as for each of you individually

This program is available as a live, interactive, 8-week online or in-person course; a weekend 8-hour retreat (Friday night/Saturday or Saturday night/Sunday); a 2-hour workshop; or most any other creative format of your choosing.

"Exploring Spiritual Leadership"

This interactive workshop is an exploration of taking leadership to a deeper level, based on spiritual principles and practices. Defining and exercising “spiritual leadership” is a main theme.

The workshop includes:
  • An exploration and deeper understanding of your individual leadership qualities, strengths, weaknesses, preferences, and motivations
  • An examination of your own “Wheel of Spiritual Life”
  • Guidelines for running and serving on committees, boards, councils, and ad hoc groups
  • The role of an opening centering exercise, checking in, ground rules, voting options, a closing practice, and shared leadership in meetings, retreats, visioning sessions, etc.

This workshop can be done as a two-hour stand-alone workshop, or it can be incorporated into the board-retreat format.
Walter is a trained mediator and facilitator who has taught both sets of skills. He has served on numerous secular and spiritual boards for over 40 years, often as president. He has been elected to top leadership councils in Centers for Spiritual Living organizations for more than two decades on the local and international levels. Currently, he is president of the Science of Mind Foundation Board.

Board Retreats

This interactive retreat explores leadership in a spiritual organization, understanding that there is a distinct difference between serving on a secular board and serving on a spiritually oriented board.

Elements of the retreat might include:
  • An exploration and deeper understanding of individual leadership styles, strengths, and motivations of the board members, so that the board can then more effectively work together as a team directing the organization;
  • A visioning exercise to create a unified vision for the community;
  • A process to demonstrate how to create organizational priorities for the next three to five years;
  • Next steps to turn the priorities into a strategic plan.

The retreat can be done as a half- or a full-day retreat and is individually tailored to meet the particular needs and goals of your organization.
